ClickUp just rebuilt its AI engine from the ground up. The company announced Brain² in its changelog on June 23, 2026, then dedicated its entire July 2 release notes to it.

What Can Brain² Actually Do?

Six things stand out from the release notes:

Automatic model routing. Brain² sends each request to Claude, GPT, or Gemini based on the job, and can switch models mid-conversation.
Persistent memory. It remembers your preferences, writing style, and project context. Tell it something once and it sticks.
Artifacts. It builds dashboards, slide decks, landing pages, and apps directly from your workspace context.
Conversations become Super Agents. Repeat the same kind of request and Brain² can convert it into a reusable agent that runs autonomously.
Outside connections. It connects to Gmail, Google Calendar, Outlook, and any MCP-compatible tool.
Brain MAX on mobile. A dedicated iOS and Android app with the same workspace context as desktop.

How Much Does ClickUp Brain² Cost?

Brain² is a paid add-on on every ClickUp plan: $9 per user per month for Brain AI or $28 per user per month for Everything AI on annual billing. Monthly billing jumps to $18 and $68.

Two details to watch. It is billed on every paid seat in your workspace, not just the people who use it. And heavy agent use draws on AI Super Credits, which run $10 per 10,000 credits.

What Does Brain² Mean for Your Business?

Brain² is leverage if your workspace is structured, and noise if it is not. It pulls answers from your tasks, docs, and conversations, so a messy workspace produces confident wrong answers.
